   Lahore (News Hub Update Latest Cricket News. December 14, 2022) PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi has appointed Babar Azam as captain for Pakistan Super League 8. Babar Azam recently joined Peshawar Zalmi.

   Earlier it was reported that Babar Azam has resigned from Karachi Kings after which he joined Peshawar Zalmi. According to News Hub, Peshawar Zalmi gave Shoaib Malik to Karachi Kings in place of Babar Azam through trade. It should be noted that Babar Azam is the captain of all three formats of the Pakistan cricket team. On the other hand, the draft of PSL season eight will be held in Karachi, and the place of the draft will be announced with the consent of all the franchises.

   PSL Director Usman Wahla said the availability of all players will make PSL 8 a good event. PSL 8 will start from February 9 to March 19 in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Karachi. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will defend their title. On the other hand, PCB has released the list of international players for selection in the gold category in the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League draft.

  130  players from England are registered in different categories and 45 players from Afghanistan, and 16 players from Australia have been named in the PSL draft while 60 players from Sri Lanka and 30 players from Bangladesh are included in the list.

   According to the list, Ireland captain Andy Balburnie, Zimbabwe captain Craig Irwin, Australian hard hitter Ben Dunk, Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran, South Africa captain Temba Bawma and Sri Lankan star Dinesh Chandimal have been included in the gold category for the PSL eighth session.
