   Lahore (News Hub Update Latest News. 18 February 2024) In the second match of Pakistan Super League 9, Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 16 runs. According to the details, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss against Quetta Gladiators and decided to field first in the match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

   Provided the opening and scored 206 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Jason Roy scored 75 runs, Saud Shakeel scored 74 runs, captain Riley Russo scored 13 runs, Sherfan Rutherford scored 20 runs and Mohammad Wasim scored 4 runs, Khawaja Nafee scored 6 runs. Remained not out while Salman Irshad got 3 wickets, and Luke Wood and Muhammad Zeeshan got 1 wicket each from Peshawar.


   Chasing the target, Peshawar Zalmi got off to an aggressive start, with openers Saeem Ayub and Babar Azam forming a 91-run partnership. Saeem Ayub was run out after scoring 42 runs off 26 balls. After that, Muhammad Haris scored 7 runs, Tom Kohler 18 runs, Powell 17 runs and Moseley scored 11 runs. Zalmi captain Babar Azam lost his wicket for 68 runs off 42 balls.

   The team of Peshawar Zalmi scored 190 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and thus Quetta Gladiators won the match by 16 runs. On behalf of Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Hamad took 2 wickets, and Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Wasim, and Aqeel Hussain got one wicket each. In the second match today, Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings teams will compete in Multan, while yesterday in the opening match of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League, the defending champions Lahore Qalandars were defeated by Islamabad United.

   The colorful opening ceremony of the 9th edition of Pakistan Super League took place in which Ali Zafar, Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, and other artists performed their art. 34 matches consisting of two phases will be played in between, 7 of the 34 matches of the event will be doubleheaders, and the final of the event will be played on March 18 in Karachi.
