Moscow: (News Hub Update Latest News. November 14, 2023) According to global media, the Russian government has repeatedly clashed with foreign technology companies over online content, data, and local representation. This has intensified since Moscow sent its forces to Ukraine in February 2022.

In Russia, Google is under pressure for its failure to remove content online deemed illegal by Russia and for restricting access to Russian media on YouTube.

While the Kremlin has banned some platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, it has not blocked access to Google services, and Google's search engine and YouTube platform, both free, continue to operate. Google did not respond to emails regarding the ban.

Google filed for bankruptcy in Russia in 2022 after authorities seized its bank account, making it impossible to pay employees and retailers.
