Israel insists there is "no humanitarian crisis" in Gaza

London: (News Hub Update latest News. October 17, 2023) Israel's ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotvili, has denied the United Nations and the World Health Organization, saying there is "no humanitarian crisis" in the Gaza Strip.

It should be noted that Israel cut off water, electricity, and food supplies to Gaza before its attack.

Israeli Defense Minister Yves Gallant called it a "total siege", saying "We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly."

On the other hand, the United Nations and several humanitarian groups warned that a disaster is unfolding in Gaza, an area of only 365 square kilometers with more than two million people.

A WHO spokesman said Israel's demand to relocate civilians in such large numbers and in such a short period of time was a "death sentence" for many Palestinians.

He further said that aid agencies, including Amnesty International, have called for the opening of humanitarian corridors so that patients can be transported safely and humanitarian.
