United States (Newshub Update 06 January 2023 News) New York has become the sixth state in the United States to compost bodies after death.

According to British media, the governor of New York has approved a law to turn a person's body into natural compost after death. Under this law, the last rites of the deceased can be done through composting instead of cremation or burial.

During this process, after the death of the person, the body is kept in a container with special compounds for a month after which it turns into natural compost.

After the body is turned into compost, it is given to the relatives of the deceased who use the compost to grow vegetables, plants, and trees. Vermont, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, and California have also passed laws to compost bodies after death.
