   Adelaide (News Hub update cricket news November 2, 2022) India defeated Bangladesh by 5 runs after an interesting match in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup. In the match played in Adelaide, India gave Bangladesh a target of 151 runs in 16 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method, the rival team scored 145 runs for 6 wickets. Bangladesh got off to a strong start in their pursuit of the target, their first wicket falling for 68 runs in the 8th over, but after that wickets continued to fall at intervals and India's grip on the match tightened.

   Bangladesh needed 20 runs in the last over to win but managed to score 14 runs, thus India won the match by 5 runs. In the match, Bangladesh won the toss and invited India to bat first, on which the Indian team scored 184 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted overs.

   India's Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 64 runs while KL Rahul scored 50 runs and Suryakumar Yadav scored 30 runs.

   Hasan Mehmood of Bangladesh dismissed 3 players. Both the teams made one change in the playing eleven. Bangladesh has replaced Soumya Sarkar with Sharaful Islam and India has replaced Deepak Hooda with Axar Patel. In Group 2, India is currently in the second position, and Bangladesh at the third position. So far 12 T20 matches have been played between Bangladesh and India, out of which India won 10.

   The Bangladesh team had given India a single defeat in a T20 match in 2019. This match is important not only for both teams but also for Pakistan. If the Bangladesh team defeats India today and Pakistan wins their remaining two matches, Pakistan's hopes of reaching the semi-finals will remain alive.
