Saudi citizens have been allowed to rent out their residential units for Haj pilgrims
Makkah Mukarramah (Newshub Update Latest News 11 February 2023) Citizens of Saudi Arabia have been allowed to rent their residential units for Hajj pilgrims, under which it will be possible for Hajj pilgrims to get cheap accommodation. According to Gulf News, Saudi Arabian citizens can rent out their residential units to pilgrims. In this regard, the Hajj Housing Committee in Makkah has announced that it has started accepting requests from citizens to rent residential units for the accommodation of Hajj pilgrims. Those who wish to rent them out should approach the designated engineering offices to complete the necessary procedures for obtaining permits.
According to the news, the administration of Makkah Mukarramah says that it is receiving requests. Engineering offices approved by Civil Defense will inspect the residential units to ensure that they meet the regulations, upon which they will be issued a 'Certificate of Fitness'.
The Housing Committee has encouraged citizens to contact them for information on obtaining permits to meet all necessary safety requirements under building regulations. Saudi Arabia issued a bylaw this month allowing its citizens to rent out their residential units to Hajj pilgrims in order to boost the private hospitality industry, Saudi Arabia's state news agency SPA said. The Private Tourism Hospitality Bylaw approved by Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib states that Saudi Arabian nationals can obtain a permit to rent out their residential units to Hajj pilgrims for a fee.
Sources have learned that under the new rule, there should be a portion of the property reserved for the hospitality of private pilgrims. Conditions that Saudi nationals applying for a permit must meet include submitting an electronic lease contract that proves ownership of the license.
