   Muscat (Newshub Update Latest News 03 January 2023) Pakistanis are in third place among travelers to Oman, where a 168 percent annual increase in international arrivals was recorded at the airport of the Gulf Kingdom of Oman. Aviation News Portal reported that Oman saw an increase in the number of passengers arriving and departing from its airports this 2022 year.

   The Pakistan Center for Statistics reported 6.969.976 passengers traveling through Omani airports from January to September 2022, which is a 168% increase in the number of arrivals and a 120% increase in the number of departures compared to 2021. . Which has increased from 26,636 flights last year to 55,814 this year. This is when the demand for travel to the Gulf countries is at its highest due to the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Doha, Qatar.

   It is known that the highest increase in traffic was at Muscat International Airport, located in the capital of Oman, where 5.975 thousand 726 passengers traveled this year, which is 114% more than the number last year. Meanwhile, the number of international flights at Salalah International Airport has increased by 221% and the number of domestic flights by 39%, which has increased from 2,774 flights last year to 3,857 in 2022.

   Similarly, Sohar International Airport hosted 55,243 passengers with 585 international flights, while Duqm International Airport saw a 5 percent increase in the number of domestic flights from 468 last year to 490. It is noteworthy that the majority of passengers were from India with 113 thousand 785 passengers, followed by Bangladesh with 52 thousand 644 passengers traveling to Oman, followed by Pakistan with 34078 passengers. Pakistan is third on this list.
