First ODI, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets | News Hub

   Karachi (Newshub Update Latest Cricket News 10 January 2023) Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first one-day match. Pakistan set a target of 256 runs in the first one-day match played at the National Cricket Stadium Arena, Karachi. Got it in the 49th over for the loss of wickets. On behalf of Pakistan, Haris Sohail scored 32 runs, Fakhar Zaman scored 56 runs and captain Babar Azam scored 66 runs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan remained not out scoring 77 runs.

   On behalf of New Zealand, Michael Bracewell took 2 wickets, and Glenn Phillips and Tim Southee took 1 and 1 wickets. Earlier, New Zealand scored 255 for losing 9 players in the allotted 50 overs while playing first on Pakistan's invitation.

   On behalf of New Zealand, wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Latham scored 42 runs and Michael Bracewell scored 43 runs. Daryl Mitchell 36, Glenn Phillips 37, Finn Allen 29, skipper Kane Williamson 26, Mitchell Santner 21 runs out. Tim Southee scored 15 runs and Lockie Ferguson returned to the pavilion not out by scoring 1 run.

   On behalf of Pakistan, Naseem Shah scored 57 runs in 10 overs and dismissed 5 players. Osama Mir took 2 wickets while Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz took 1 and 1 wicket respectively.
