Brisbane: In the 20th match of the 12-stage T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets to make the points table more interesting in Group A.
In the match played in Brisbane, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first, but scored 144 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The openers of the Afghanistan team provided a 42-run opening, Rahmanullah Garbaz and Usman Ghani managed to score 28 and 27 runs respectively.
Among other players, Ibrahim Zadran scored 22, Najeebullah 18, Gulbuddin Naib 12, Captain Mohammad Nabi 13, Rashid Khan 9, and Azmatullah Omarzai scored 3 runs.
