Karachi (News Hub update sports news) PSL 6 has been postponed due to increasing cases of
coronavirus. The Pakistan Cricket Board has given foreign players the option to skip the ongoing
sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 6) after positive COVID 19 tests.
Australian
all-rounder Dan Christian, who was playing for the Karachi Kings, has decided to withdraw from
the event.
Meanwhile, Karachi Kings director Wasim Akram will not take part in the event.
According to the
news hub, seven players, and one support staff officers have been diagnosed
with the coronavirus,
which has raised questions about the PCB's bio-secure bubble arrangements
and the safety of foreign
players.
Islamabad United's Fawad Ahmed and Lewis Gregory and Quetta Gladiators' Tom Benton have already tested positive.
According to the sources of news hub, also revealed that Peshawar Zalmi's head coach Darren Sammy
and captain Wahab Riaz were allowed to join the cricket team after just one day's quarantine, after
which the other players were relieved.
The move came after Zalmai refused to take the field against the Lahore Qalandars without a pair. The families of the players were also included in the bio-secure bubble without being quarantined.
They were also seen mingling with the players in the stands of the
National Stadium in Karachi.
An emergency meeting of PSL 6 management and cricket team owners is underway due to increasing
cases of the corona. The meeting is discussing the situation after the increase in corona cases.
