Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars

   Karachi (News Hub update sports news) In the 7th cricket match of Pakistan Super League 2021, Multan Sultans beat Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets. Multan Sultans started their innings with a target of 158 runs when Chris Lane was bowled on the third ball of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Multan Sultans had to bear the second loss of James Venus who scored 5 runs and was caught by the ball of Summit Patel.

   Sohaib Maqsood and Captain Mohammad Rizwan batted well for the third wicket. The captain completed his second half-century and also completed the team's century. Rizwan, who was playing at 55 for 83, was caught by Fakhr Zaman but he scored 76. Shaheen became a victim of Afridi. Earlier in the match being played at the National Stadium, Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and invited to bat first.

   Lahore Qalandars started batting in a disappointing manner and captain Sohail Akhtar was dismissed in the fourth over off the ball of Carlos Braithwaite when the team's score was only 17 runs. Sohail Akhtar was dismissed for just 7 runs off 12 balls. The second opener Fakhr Zaman was also dismissed in the next over after catching wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan on a fastball by Shahnawaz Dhani.
Joe Danley and Mohammad Hafeez batted responsibly and formed an excellent partnership.

   Mohammad Hafeez completed his second half-century of the season and eighth overall in the PSL this season with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes off 27 balls. Carlos Braithwaite caught Danley behind the wickets for 31 runs and took the third wicket for the team. After Danley, Usman Qadir dismissed
the dangerous batsman Dink on the first ball of the 15th over.

   Muhammad Hafeez scored 61 off 35 balls with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes but Usman Qadir stopped his lead by running out in the 15th over. David Vishay also got out soon and added only 13 runs. Samat Patel along with Shaheen Afridi completed the team's innings for the sixth wicket and Qalandars scored 157 for 6 in the allotted overs.

   Sultans' Braithwaite and Shahnawaz Dhani took 2.2 wickets, Samat Patel 26, and Shaheen Afridi 3 not out. Multan Sultans captain said that Sohail Khan has been included in the cricket team in place of Sohail Tanveer while Lahore Qalandars made two changes in the cricket team.
