November 11, 2023) Pakistan's journey in the 44th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 ended in defeat, England easily defeated Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Pakistan team managed to get 4 out of 9 victories during the current World Cup. However, despite the defeat against England, the Pakistani team remained in the fifth position in the World Cup, Pakistan needed at least 188 runs to save the fifth position.

   Only Agha Salman from Pakistan stood out by scoring a half-century of 51 runs, while Dodd Wiley, who played the last one-day match of his career from England, stood out by taking 3 wickets.

   The Pakistani team was out of the official World Cup 2023 at the beginning of their innings. England set Pakistan a target of 338 runs to win, which Pakistan had to achieve in 6.2 overs. England's openers gave the team an aggressive start of 82 runs, but Jonny Bairstow 59, David Mullan 31, Ben Stokes, and Joe Root put on a 132-run partnership for the third wicket.

   Ben Stokes scored 84 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 11 fours while Joe Root got out after playing an innings of 60 runs. Harry Brooke scored 30 runs and Jos Buttler scored 27 runs, Moeen Ali scored 8 runs. On behalf of Pakistan, Haris Rauf got 3 wickets, Mohammad Wasim got 3 wickets, Shaheen Afridi got 2 wickets and Iftikhar Ahmed got one wicket. The England team scored 337 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

   Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bat first. The captain of the English team said that he wanted to end the tournament with a win after winning the last match of the league. He said that he would have won the toss and batted first so that he could make history by improving the net rate, but he will try to win the match.

   Pakistan team captain Babar Azam said that a change has been made in the team Shadab Khan has been made a part of the playing XI instead of Hasan Ali.
