While batting first, Pakistan gave New Zealand a target of 281 runs. Mohammad Rizwan's 77 runs and Fakhar Zaman's brilliant century in the deciding match of the series.    Fakhar Zaman and Shan Masood opened the batting for Pakistan, but this partnership could only last for 2 overs. Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson dismissed Shaun Masood for a wicket. Pakistan team's second wicket fell on 21 runs when captain Babar Azam was stumped by Michael Preswell for 4 runs.

   After the fall of two wickets on the total score of 21, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhiz Zaman put on a partnership of 153 runs, but Rizwan lost the wicket by scoring 77 runs.
