   ISTANBUL (News Hub update news) 86 years after the arrival of the historic mosque
in Turkey, Taraweeh prayers were offered in Sofia. According to the details, Ramadan has
started all over the world including Pakistan. In many countries, the first fast was observed
on Tuesday, April 13, while in most countries, including Pakistan, Ramadan began on
Wednesday, April 14.

   Like other Islamic countries in the world, Ramadan has begun in Turkey with religious
fervor. For the first time in decades, Taraweeh prayers were offered at the historic AYA Sofia
Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. According to Turkish media, Taraweeh prayers were held in Sofia
for the first time in 86 years during Ramadan. Thousands of worshipers turned to AYA Sofia
for the first Taraweeh prayer of the first Ramadan.

   Earlier last month, Church Aya Sofia in the historic Turkish city of Istanbul celebrated
Ascension Day for the first time in 87 years. It may be recalled that Turkish President
Rajab Tayyib ErdoÄŸan had recently given the status of a mosque to AYA Sofia again despite
the opposition of Western countries.

   Last year, after a long hiatus of 86 years, prayers were offered in AYA Sofia for the first time.
Turkish President Rajab Tayyib ErdoÄŸan also attended a prayer meeting in AYA Sofia 86 years
later. Hundreds of thousands of children had arrived in Sofia to offer Friday prayers. It seemed
as if the whole of Istanbul had come for prayers.

   A sermon was delivered before the prayers and the Turkish president recited. After a long time,
when the call to prayer was heard from the minarets of the mosque, many eyes were filled with
tears and they came to see the breathtaking scenes.
