Harare (News Hub update sports news) In the second T20, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan
by 19 runs to tie the series 1-1. In the second match of the three-match T20 series in Harare,
Pakistan won the toss and invited Zimbabwe to play first. Brendon Taylor and Tinashe
started the innings for Zimbabwe.
Brendon Taylor and Tanasha Kaman started the innings but Brendon Taylor fell victim to
Faheem Ashraf by scoring only 5 runs.
No Zimbabwean batsman was able to stay in front of
the strong bowling of the Pakistani team for long, only opener Tinashe Kaman scored 34 and
Regis Chakaboa scored 18 runs which helped the Zimbabwean team to score 118 runs for the
loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
From Pakistan, Danish Aziz and Mohammad Hasnain got 2, 2 wickets, while Arshad Iqbal,
Fahim Ashraf, Usman Qadir, and Haris Rauf got one each.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam and
Muhammad Rizwan chased the target slowly and scored just 21 runs in 5 overs. M Rizwan
was the first batsman to be dismissed for 13 off 18 balls, while Fakhr Zaman scored 2 off 7 balls.
Muhammad Hafeez was dismissed for just 5 runs. Captain Babar Azam was Pakistan's leading
run-scorer with 41 off 45 balls with five fours.
Asif Ali was dismissed for just one run, Ashraf
could not bear the pressure and was dismissed for 2 in the 19th over. Danish Aziz was also given
a chance in the series but he could not show his skills and showed slow batting and 22 runs off
24 balls, which included only one-four.
Pakistan was bowled out for 99 in the last over and lost the match by 19 runs. In the last over,
Haris Rauf, Arshad Iqbal, and Usman Qadir were dismissed for zero. For Zimbabwe,
Luke Jongwe took the most 4 wickets and gave the team a great victory. Two changes have
been made to the Pakistan squad for the second T20 match, replacing Haider Ali and Nawaz
with Asif Ali and Arshad Iqbal.
Zimbabwe captain Sean Williams has been given a chance to rest. Brendan Taylor will
be the captain, while Craig Aaron has been ruled out of the series due to fitness issues and
will be replaced by Teresa Masakanda.
It should be noted that in the series of three T20
matches, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan and tied the series 1-1. In the first T20 match, Pakistan
had defeated Zimbabwe by 11 runs.
