Harare (News Hub update sports news) In the third and final match of the three-match T20
series, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 24 runs to win the series 1-2. Pakistan's first wicket
fell at 35 when Sharjeel Khan was caught in the fifth over of the match and returned to the
pavilion. He played aggressively and completed a half-century as well as setting a record for
the fastest 2000 runs in T20 matches.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan shared a 124-run stand. Rizwan played an unbeaten
inning of 89 runs while Babar Azam scored 52 runs which helped the Pakistan team to score
163 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In pursuit of the target,
the Zimbabwean opener also put on 37 runs in 5 overs, but Hassan Ali ended Masakanda's
innings with 10 runs.
Opener Medhivar completed his half-century and also scored the team's century for the
second wicket with Tadivanashe Marumani. Marumi scored 35 runs and became the wicket
of Mohammad Hasnain. Wesley's innings was ended by Hassan Ali for 59 runs, Taylor made
a little resistance by scoring 20 runs, but other batsmen could not cross the double digits,
Hassan Ali said.
Bowling brilliantly, the hosts put a lot of pressure on the Pakistani team to win, Zimbabwe
scored 141 for 7 in the allotted overs and lost the match by 24 runs.
Hassan Ali took the
most 4 wickets, Haris Rauf took 2 wickets and Mohammad Hasnain took one wicket. It
may be recalled that in the first match of the series, Pakistan had defeated Zimbabwe by 11
runs in the first T20 match thanks to the excellent performance of Mohammad Rizwan and
the bowlers.
However, in the second match, Zimbabwe bowled out the entire Pakistan team for 99
runs in the second T20 and easily defeated Pakistan by 19 runs. The winner will decide.
Hassan Ali Sharjeel Khan and Sarfraz Ahmed have been included in the squad for the third
T20 match.
The Pakistan team includes Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan, Hassan Ali,
Sarfraz Ahmed, Fakhr Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Fahim Ashraf, Mohammad Hasnain,
Haris Rauf, Sharjeel Khan, and Usman Qadir.
The Zimbabwe team includes Sean Williams (captain), Luke Jongwe, Ryan Burrell,
Wesley Madhyore, Tadivanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Regis Chakboa,
Blessing Mazarbani, Richard Nerva, and Trasyamsakanda.
