Kuwait (News Hub Update News) Kuwait is in political turmoil due to an important decision
of the Ministerial Court. A ministerial court has ordered the arrest of former prime minister Sheikh
Jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah before the trial. He is being prosecuted for the misappropriation of
military funds.

According to foreign news, former prime minister Sheikh Jaber and former defence minister
and interior minister Sheikh Khalid al-Jarrah al-Sabah have rejected the allegations of corruption
against them. The court has rejected Sheikh Khalid's request for release. Both are members of
Kuwait's ruling family. Newspapers say the court has banned the publication of information related
to the case.

The court made the decision at the request of the defence team. The court adjourned further
hearing of the case till April 27. A Kuwaiti government spokesman did not comment on the court's
ruling. Sheikh Jaber resigned as Prime Minister in 2019. He has been the Prime Minister since
2011. The members then moved a no-confidence motion against Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid
and wanted a vote in parliament.

Two days after the resignation of Prime Minister Jaber's government, then-defence Minister
Sheikh Nasir Sabah al-Ahmad issued a statement saying that this was before he took over the
pen, but that the cabinet had misappropriated 79 crore dollar in military funds. Had already
resigned before dealing with. Sheikh Nasir was then ill and died in December last year.

Two months earlier, his father, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, a former amir of Kuwait, had
died after a long illness. But he apologized for accepting the offer after a media campaign against
him. It should be noted that there were demonstrations outside the parliament in Kuwait City against
the allegations of corruption against the personalities of the ruling family. Kuwait's current prime
minister says the fight against corruption is a top priority.
