Mumbai (News Hub update sports news) Indian Cricket Board has supported the inclusion
of cricket in the Olympics. According to foreign media, the International Cricket Council has
called for the inclusion of the T20 format in the 2028 Olympics. Earlier, in 1900, cricket was
included in the Olympic Games in Paris.

The BCCI had earlier opposed the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics. The BCCI believes
that the participation of cricket in the Olympic Games will end the Indian Board's discretion
and will have to answer to the Olympic Committee. However, the BCCI changed its position
after the Apex Committee meeting last week.

BCCI official Arun Singh told foreign media that cricket was interested in participating
in the Olympic Games but was being considered. The BCCI has also announced plans to
send a women's cricket team to next year's Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Cricket
was first included in the Commonwealth Games in 1998 when the South African team
won a gold medal in Kuala Lumpur.
