The UK Supreme Court has ruled that Uber drivers have a right to workers' rights.

The American company Uber has decided to give its drivers the status of regular workers in the UK, which will give them other benefits, including wages.
According to the news hub, this is the first time in the world that this facility is being provided to Uber drivers.
According to News Hub, the Uber management said that their drivers will also get a pension and holiday pay. In a statement, taxi application Uber said more than 70,000 Uber drivers would be hired as workers in the UK. Last month, the British Supreme Court ruled that Uber drivers had the right to workers' rights. The decision sparked a legal battle between Uber and drivers in the UK.
Uber said the measures for workers' rights meant drivers would have security so they could plan for
the future.
The Services Employees International Union, which works for the rights of Uber drivers in
the United States has welcomed the move in the UK.
According to News Hub, a month before the decision was made in the United Kingdom, a referendum was held in the US state of California in which it was decided that Uber drivers should also, be taken as workers.
Drivers working for companies such as Uber filed a lawsuit against the decision, known as Proposition 22. Proposition 22, passed in November, was strongly supported by Uber, Lift, and other apps.
Under this, the drivers are independent contractors but Uber has to give them some concessions,
including wages healthcare, and insurance. Critics say it does not fully cover the cost of drivers.
